Here at Siskiyou Summit Defense we aim to make our community safer by providing knowledge and training to all skills and ages in a fun and safe learning environment.
About Me
I began Siskiyou Summit Defense out of an inspiration to empower and encourage the women in my life to feel confident in self-protection. I am an active member of law enforcement and local SWAT with over a decade of experience in the field, includes 8 years as a professional firearms instructor. I have the knowledge and skills to provide thoughtful and patient instruction to all skill levels. As a husband and father I am passionate about creating a safe space to learn about firearm safety.

Our Instructors
Owner/Lead Instructor
Evan Westhelle
Evan was born and raised right here in Southern Oregon. Evan began his career in law enforcement in 2015 and still serves as a law enforcement officer today. In 2017 Evan became a firearms instructor for law enforcement where he developed a passion for firearms and teaching. Evan currently maintains his instructor status within law enforcement. In 2018 Evan became a member of a local Southern Oregon SWAT team where he actively serves today as the Entry Team Leader.
